The 2021 and 2022 vintages presented challenges due to signi cant
rainfall and ooding in the Hunter Valley. However, the 2023 vintage
marked a welcome improvement, with weather conditions free from
excessive rainfall. December and January were drier and sunnier, with
clear skies continuing through harvest.

This single-vineyard wine, crafted by Cael’s Gate, is made from Semillon vines planted in 1978. Complex and beautifully expressive, the bouquet reveals aromas of lemon zest, crunchy apple, and dried grass, with a subtle hint of toasty nuance. On the palate, it offers excellent weight and focus, beautifully framed by vibrant acidity, finishing with a dry, linear elegance.
